Morrison Hershfield's Transportation Division provides planning, design and construction administration services for roadway, highway, transit / rail, bridge and related projects. We are currently seeking an experienced Project Manager to complement our transportation team in Eastern Ontario to play a lead role in the delivery of environmental assessment and functional / preliminary and detail design assignments  primarily for public sector clients. Due to expanding business opportunities in Ontario and elsewhere within the company, this position offers significant potential for growth in the areas of technical / professional development and project management.

  • Manage projects including coordination of design and multi-discipline staff;
  • Direct and mentor staff assigned to your projects;
  • Review and approve work completed by project design team;
  • Manage project schedules and budgets;
  • Design highway and municipal road projects for clients in the province of Ontario and major municipalities in the region;
  • Prepare conceptual and final drawings, cross-sections, geometric and drainage design;
  • Perform quantity calculations;
  • Prepare contract documents;
  • Prepare correspondence, reports, proposals, expressions of interest, specifications and meeting minutes; and
  • Take on the role of engineer of record on projects as required.



  • P.Eng. designation with 4-6 years of experience in the transportation design engineering field preferably with experience in the Ontario consulting industry.
  • Experience in the detailed design and construction of roadways and/or transit facilities.
  • Experience in the design of municipal roadway projects.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and highway design software (e.g. InRoads, civil 3D) will be an asset.
  • Excellent communication skills with experience in public consultation and dealing directly with design teams and clients.
  • Experience with business development and proposal preparation is preferred.
