Our Building Performance Analysis group delivers cutting edge, state of the art projects to clients in a variety of industries who are looking to take their energy performance to the next level. We are currently looking for a Building Energy Consultant to join our Building Performance Analysis group in our Markham office. The successful candidate will join our growing group of simulation consultants and be involved in a wide range of projects varying from industry leading research to commercial, institutional, and multi-unit residential projects both new and existing.

Supporting the North American Building Performance Analysis group, the candidate will:

  • Perform whole building energy modeling on new and existing buildings
  • Assess building performance for design assistance, code compliance, LEED certification, and other objectives as appropriate
  • Complete energy documentation for compliance and write reports for clients and authorities having jurisdiction
  • Analyze existing building utility data, benchmarking and identification of building improvements
  • Perform building site visits to collect building data related to building envelope, electrical and mechanical systems
  • Liaise with internal team members within and external to the analysis group
  • Liaise with clients for coordinating and communicating results
  • Assist in developing company wide tools and resources




  • Previous experience in a similar role considered an asset
  • Bachelor of Engineering Degree is required; Master's Degree in a relevant field is considered an asset
  • Eligibility for registration as an EIT is required
  • LEED GA or LEED AP designation is preferred
  • Knowledge of energy efficient building design, energy simulation software, energy management and incentive programs, HVAC and lighting systems as well as an understanding of building envelope.
  • Familiarity with LEED, ASHRAE standards as well as a broad range of energy modeling applications (EnergyPlus preferred or extensive experience in other platforms and willing to learn EnergyPlus).
  • Strong analytical and modeling skills
  • Self-motivated and multi-tasker, excellent time management skills, excellent communication skills (written, oral), and exceptional attention to detail
  • Strong consensus building skills and a team approach
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
