The Electrical Designer will work under close supervision and direction of Senior Electrical Engineering staff, and where the primary engineering focus will be in buildings electrical systems and lighting projects.  The successful candidate is expected to learn and perform project assignments within defined standards developing electrical designs for buildings and facilities projects, learn how to exercise judgment in selecting and interpreting information with review by senior or intermediate level engineers, and work closely with Project Managers, Project Architects and Senior Electrical Engineers. There will be occasional fieldwork and light travel requirements.

  • ​Prepare electrical construction drawings and specifications, under direction and supervision of members of the architectural, structural and mechanical design team(s)
  • Learn how to document progress/results through the preparation of memos, minutes and reports as a record of events
  • Assist in conducting site visit surveys of buildings for the purposes of collecting design information related to electrical service, fire alarm, grounding and lightning protection as they relate to telecommunications facilities design
  • Learn how to prepare field information documentation of site visit surveys
  • Assist in review of shop drawings and equipment submittal for compliance with data center or telecommunication facilities construction document requirements
  • Adhere to corporate quality control and assurance processes for all electrical design work
  • Assist in the preparation of electrical engineering analyses for projects to include short circuit, device coordination, and arc flash hazard studies, voltage drop studies, photometric lighting calculations, demand load calculations, and generator and UPS sizing calculations (training will be provided)
  • Proven familiarity with relevant codes or demonstrate ability to become familiar within a short time
  • Expected to learn and become well-versed in the supporting Codes essential to Mission Critical Projects





  • ​Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with power and facilities option 
  • Prior experience in electrical engineering, facility/infrastructure power projects an asset
  • EIT or proven desire and ability to achieve
  • AutoCAD and Revit proficiency is required
  • Valid BC driver's license and access to a vehicle
