Morrison Hershfield is looking to expand their established Buildings and Facilities Engineering team in Vancouver.  MH has extensive experience in mechanical, electrical and structural systems for various types of buildings and facilities, and for a wide spectrum of applications. We work independently on stand-alone M/E/S projects or together with architects and engineers of other specialties on multi-disciplinary projects to provide integrated solutions that address the particular requirements of our clients.


Our committed team of engineers and designers, provides services to many client sectors, including institutional, industrial, food and beverage, transit, commercial, educational and health care. In addition, we specialize in the design of systems for mission-critical facilities in the government, telecommunications and financial sectors. We are currently seeking an Intermediate Mechanical Designer to complement our Buildings team in the Vancouver Office. This candidate will play a critical production role in assisting our clients in all phases of the design process, from functional planning and conceptual layout through to detailed design and construction support.

  • ​Actively participate in the design of building (HVAC and Plumbing) mechanical systems for projects in the institutional, transit, food and beverage, industrial and commercial sectors as an integral member of the mechanical design team
  • Create, develop and maintain project design models and drawings using latest BIM/Revit/CAD techniques in accordance with established standards and design principals
  • Coordinate mechanical designs, models and drawings packages with other engineering/architectural disciplines as part of the complete design solutions
  • Identify discrepancies in models, drawings and information and resolve through appropriate methods and channels
  • Review models, drawings, and information to ensure completeness and accuracy
  • Perform changes, additions and/or revisions as required
  • Participate in the tendering and construction phases of the project as required to support the consultants role on the project
  • Perform field reviews to support the design phase and verification of construction during project execution



  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology or equivalent education
  • Minimum 4 years' experience in CAD/BIM operation and design working on buildings projects
  • Relevant experience working on mechanical building projects with specific experience in design and modeling/drawing development for building HVAC and plumbing systems
  • Advanced knowledge of the latest editions of Revit and AutoCAD
