Morrison Hershfield is a multi-disciplinary consulting engineering and management firm with offices located throughout the US and Canada. The Victoria, BC office is looking for a friendly, helpful, customer service oriented receptionist to greet guests, answer phones, and assist with administrative duties. The focus of this position will be to provide reception and administrative support to help increase the productivity of the technical and operational staff. This position is a Monday to Friday, 5 hours per day, part time opportunity.

  • Front-line administration for clients and staff
  • Screen and transfer calls in a prompt and professional manner
  • Coordinate courier pickups and deliveries
  • Order office supplies
  • Create, format, and produce professional documentation and correspondence, including labels, transmittals, spreadsheets, etc. utilizing Microsoft Office programs
  • Assist Office Facilities Coordinator with petty cash reconciliation, invoicing, and other administrative tasks
  • General housekeeping of common areas (kitchen, conference rooms, storage rooms)
  • Assist with planning and coordinating office events
  • Assist with IT troubleshooting with support from IT team
  • Other duties as required





  • Prior front desk and/or administrative assistant experience is an asset
  • Strong customer-focused attitude toward both clients and staff, attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to represent the company in a polished and professional manner
  • Ability to problem-solve and prioritize work
  • Must be proactive and upbeat even under pressure; must demonstrate the ability to exercise sound independent judgment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Intermediate level experience with Microsoft Suite products
