Morrison Hershfield's Community Infrastructure and Environment business unit provides planning, design and construction administration services for roadway, transit / rail, and subdivision related projects. We have an immediate opening for a Transit Project Manager in our Vancouver office. The project manager is responsible for all aspects of project delivery with a focus on large multi-disciplinary transit projects. The project manager will also be the main point of contact for our clients for the duration of the project life-cycle and will manage internal teams to ensure projects are delivered on time and on budget. The ideal candidate will be familiar with P3, design build and traditional engineering projects.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Manage a multi-disciplinary project team 

  • Prepare and manage project budgets, work plans and schedules

  • Business development - may include directing some construction administration projects where included with our detailed design assignments 

  • Communicate with clients, agencies, stakeholders, and the public 

  • Prepare correspondence, reports and proposals

  • Work with senior leadership to grow the transit business of Morrison Hershfield

  • Staff development and mentoring

 

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in civil engineering
  • P.Eng. with a minimum of 4 years of proven experience managing large multi-disciplinary projects 
  • Experience with TransLink and/or BC Transit
  • PMP designation is an asset
  • P3 experience is an asset
  • Strong business acumen and vision 
  • Ability to set goals and manage priorities
  • Professional attitude toward management and interpersonal communication
  • Outstanding communication and documentation skills
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Demonstrated leadership to motivate and maximize individual performance
  • Understanding of organizations priorities and ability to make trade-off decisions
  • Five years of experience dealing with clients and top-level management
