Morrison Hershfield is a leading Building Science firm with 18 offices across North America. We currently have an immediate opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to join our team as a full-time or part-time Business Development Manager for the Greater Toronto Area. This position is an excellent opportunity for a self-motivated professional to build long-term relationships with local Architects, Developers and Contractors, promoting our services while being supported by Canada's top building science talent. The building science new construction services that the BD Manager will be promoting include building envelope design and construction review, façade engineering, energy modeling, envelope component modeling and field performance testing of envelope systems. We believe that business development is a team sport and we're looking for the point guard who can set our team up for success.

  • Utilize your existing network to identify potential clients, build relationships and market MH Building Science services to clients in the GTA
  • Introduce technical team members for more in-depth discussions with client
  • Assist technical team in preparation of proposals
  • Ability to win new projects
  • Track GTA development industry activities for potential projects and clients
  • Promote customer service and ongoing client relationship management
  • Support Marketing efforts by providing thoughtful content and project descriptions
  • Coordinate marketing events with clients




  • Business development experience within the Architecture/ Engineering/ Construction (AEC) industry (equivalent experience in sales will be considered)
  • Existing network within the A/E/C community in the GTA
  • Ability to work with multiple clients including developers, architects, contractors, construction managers and building owners for our new construction practice
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment with a strong customer service commitment
  • Strong relationship/ interpersonal skills
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Well organized, self-motivated, with attention to detail
  • Architecture or engineering background is an asset
  • Basic knowledge of engineering and building science principals, industry codes and standards, and common construction systems and materials
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Sharepoint), Microsoft CRM and effective prioritizing skills
