Overview

Morrison Hershfield provides integrated and cost effective solutions to a broad range of solid waste management challenges. Our clients are municipal, regional, provincial and territorial governments as well as private sector companies in need of reliable waste solutions. Our team is currently involved in a very broad range of solid waste projects in the areas of: solid waste planning, organics management, anaerobic digestion, resource recovery, technology assessments, waste processing recycling and sorting, landfill design, extended producer responsibility, curbside collection and transfer station design.

 

We are currently looking for a Junior Solid Waste Designer/EIT able to join our Environmental group in our Vancouver office. This position is an excellent opportunity to help launch a growing practice within an established firm.

Responsibilities

 

This role will consist of mainly technical responsibilities, requiring strong people and communication skills. Responsibilities will include:

  • Prepare plans, designs, calculations, and analysis in accordance with established codes, standards, drawings and other specifications
  • Prepare and assist in the preparation of engineering technical reports, specifications, and cost estimates, drawings or schedules as assigned
  • Interpret and analyze field inspection data to evaluate and make recommendations on technical problem solutions
  • Conduct inspection work
  • Prepare contract documents, tender evaluations and/or construction liaison and support services

 

 

Qualifications

 

  • ​Post-Secondary education in engineering
  • Eligibility for registration with the APEGBC as a P.Eng.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Project
  • Willingness to travel and undertake field work as required
