Morrison Hershfield's Building Science Group provides planning, design and construction administration services for a vast array of building types and uses. We are currently seeking a Building Science Consultant to complement our Building Sciences team, who will play a lead role in the delivery of building condition assessment/evaluations, air barrier consulting, project management, renewal planning etc. Due to expanding business opportunities in Texas and elsewhere within the company, this position offers significant potential for growth in the areas of technical and professional development and project management.

  • Perform and oversee condition assessments of existing and new building envelope systems
  • Review building envelope assemblies for water penetration, vapor diffusion, air leakage and thermal performance on paper (i.e. shop drawings) and in the field
  • Undertake field performance testing of selected elements of building envelope assemblies to confirm compliance with specified performance standards
  • Perform field work and reporting on assessment and construction projects
  • Interface with owners, design professionals, general contractors and sub-trades
  • Assist in preparing proposals and other sales and marketing activities
  • Project management of multiple projects



  • Minimum 4 years of building envelope / building science consultation experience and/or other industry related experience to include; engineering, architecture, and construction management
  • Experience with field assessment of building envelope systems (roofing, waterproofing and facade), construction and shop drawings review, and field observation / testing
  • Bachelor's in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering Technology, Building Science or related field preferred
  • Project Management experience preferred
  • RCI Certification in at least one discipline preferred
