Morrison Hershfield's year 2020 Vision includes a growth initiative so as to be recognized as a national leader in the assessment, rehabilitation and replacement of bridges and other transportation structures in each region of Canada that we operate in.  Our national bridge team is currently over 90 strong in our Vancouver, Calgary, Winnipeg, Toronto and Ottawa offices, and we look to double in size by 2020. Our national transportation group is over 300 strong. As a result there will be immediate opportunities for working across all jurisdictions and contributing to interesting projects of all scale and type.


We are looking for a talented Intermediate to Senior Bridge Engineer to deliver projects as part of our Transportation Structures department in Vancouver, BC.  Morrison Hershfield's Western Canada bridge group has experienced significant growth over the past 6 years. We are looking for talented engineers to solidify our team and allow us to deliver high end services to our current and future clients, particularly in BC and the Yukon, but also nationally.

  • Project management and design of bridges, culverts, retaining walls and foundation engineering assignments
  • Analysis, design, preparation of tender packages, visual inspections, report preparation, cost estimating, construction engineering services
  • Assist Morrison Hershfield offices in other provinces to deliver projects
  • Business development and proposal preparation
  • Mentoring of junior staff



  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering. Masters in Structural Engineering would be an asset
  • P.Eng. designation with APEGBC or the ability to transfer
  • Minimum 6 years of relevant experience, preferably within the bridge consulting engineering industry
  • Proven ability to deliver bridge design and analysis projects from start to finish
  • Excellent report writing skills
  • Familiarity with CHBDC and BC MOTI design standards and project delivery an asset
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast paced, deadline oriented environment
  • Self-motivated with a strong commitment to teamwork
  • Experience with CSiBridge / SAP2000 / Midas / SFrame / AutoCAD and similar software is an asset
  • Experience with D/B or P3 projects is an asset
  • Valid BC driver's license and access to a vehicle
