An employee owned company, Morrison Hershfield provides a wide range of Civil Engineering services, including assessments, planning, design, and construction administration for bridges and other transportation related infrastructure. The growing Winnipeg Transportation Structures Group is part of our National Transportation Structures Group, which has over 90 specialists located in Vancouver, Calgary, Winnipeg, Toronto, and Ottawa. We are looking for a talented Senior Bridge Engineer to deliver projects as part of our Transportation Structures Department in Winnipeg, Manitoba.  Morrison Hershfield has been working hard to develop an excellent reputation and position ourselves as a preferred consultant with major clients, such as Manitoba Infrastructure and the City of Winnipeg. Responsibilities

  • Project management and design of bridges, culverts, retaining walls, and foundation engineering assignments
  • Analysis and design
  • Preparation of tender packages
  • Visual inspections, report preparation, cost estimating, and construction engineering services
  • Business development, client development, and proposal preparation
  • Mentoring of junior staff

 

Qualifications

  • P.Eng. designation with APEGM or the ability to transfer
  • Minimum 6 years leading transportation structures/bridge projects
  • Minimum 10 years overall experience in structural engineering
  • Bachelors degree in civil or structural engineering
  • Proven ability to deliver bridge design and analysis projects from start to finish
  • Familiarity with the Canadian Highway Bridge Design Code
  • Excellent report writing skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast paced, deadline oriented environment
  • Self-motivated with a strong commitment to teamwork

Assets:

  • Experience with City of Winnipeg and Manitoba Infrastructure design standards and project delivery
  • Experience with AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications
  • Experience with MIDAS / SAP2000 / SFrame / AutoCAD and similar software
  • Experience with D/B or P3 projects
