Due to expanding business opportunities across Canada in general and in British Columbia in particular, we're seeking to expand the Planning Group's presence in our Vancouver office.  We are currently seeking a leader to build on our success in the local market to date and to spearhead the growth of the group.  This position offers significant potential for career growth.


MH's Transportation Planning Group has been engaged in high-profile award-winning projects including the following:

  • The City of Ottawa Road and Transit Master Plan, which received the Professional Planners Institute (OPPI) Award for Excellence in Planning in 2014
  • The Ottawa Confederation Line Preliminary Design and Procurement, which received the Gold Award from the Canadian Council for Public Private Partnerships (CCPPP) for Transportation Innovation in 2013
  • The Algonquin College Centre for Construction Excellence (ACCE), which received the Canada Green Building Council Award for Innovation in 2012

  • Manage transportation planning studies including master plans, environmental assessment, multi-modal transportation studies and assessment and traffic and transportation operations analysis
  • Comprehensively manage and control all aspects of assigned projects to achieve the Client's set scope, schedule, budget and quality objectives through the application of formal project management process, techniques, and procedures
  • Establish and maintain good working relationships and communication with clients, department managers, internal and external leads
  • Undertake business development activities and support or lead proposal preparation as the need may be
  • Assist with staff development, providing input and recommendations related to staff needs including mentoring and supervising junior/intermediate staff
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Bachelor Degree in civil engineering, urban planning or equivalent
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in delivering transportation planning and/or traffic engineering services in the public or private sectors
  • Proven track record of winning and successfully delivering work to municipal, provincial governments, institutions, and/or private clients
  • Prior experience in business development and client management
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Professional designation with APEGBC is an asset
  • Demonstrated interest in contributing to the profession through participation in conferences and technical committees is an asset
