The Field Services Manager would be responsible for pursuing, coordinating and performing various on-site activities for the telecom group.  These activities would include modification inspection, tower mapping, antenna audit, tower maintenance, construction management and due diligence site walks.  Due to client needs, the Field Service Manager would be required to have an associate weld inspection qualification and be required to train future hires as well.

Responsibilities

 

  • Supervise and schedule the tower climbing team
  • Coordinate subcontractors as required
  • Perform tower structural mappings, inventory mappings, maintenance inspections, modification inspections and site audits
  • Work in locations throughout the U.S.
  • Write reports from field observations, work with CAD staff to develop profile drawings and communicate regularly with engineering staff
  • Perform CWI (if certified)
  • Construction management and supervision of subs and/or subcontractors
  • Work with Health and Safety manager to maintain and develop safety protocols

 

 

Qualifications

  • Associates (2-year) degree (Technician or Technical Disciplines)
  • Minimum 8 years' experience in climbing telecommunication/broadcast towers
  • Prior experience in a supervisory role
  • Associate weld inspection qualification (or ability to pass Certified Weld Inspector exam within 3 months of hire)
  • Comtrain Climbing Certification (or equivalent)
  • Must be safety conscious
  • Willingness to work in a team environment focused on learning and development
  • Must be able to use Microsoft Word & Excel
  • CWI, Construction Engineering Management degree, construction management experience, EIT or experience with CAD are all considered a plus
